Anomalluma dodsoniana (Lavranos) Plowes   

DESCRIPTION: Plants forming small groups of up to about 30 articulately jointed stems, sometimes rooting adventitiously; stems elongate, clearly 4-angled, 20–60 mm long, c. 10 mm wide. Flowers 1–3 on short peduncle, opening successively from flowering eyes near the stem tips. Corolla rotate, very dark reddish-brown, glabrous, c. 6 mm wide with broadly triangular lobes. Corona dark purple-brown; outer lobes with 2 short, ascending segments; inner lobes ± strap-shaped with truncate tips. The small dark purple-black flowers (Corolla 6 mm diam) produced from near the tops of the plants, can be self fertile. Synonyms: Pseudolithos dodsonianus (Lavranos) Bruyns & Meve.
